Thrown Into A River : Love Me Still

Thrown into a river
Can’t swim or even breathe
Strength begins to wither
And I’m left to believe
That you are the tide
Who took my breath away
Everything I held inside
Air bubbles start to stray
Thrashing around is useless
I’ve had my fair share
Of trying to get through this
Let waves take away my care
Splash of love caresses me
Tenderly holds me high
This contradiction addresses me
I float here, asking why
Why you seem to drown my tears
Why do you fill
My heart with such flowing fear
Yet you love me still
These questions take the air
I was holding back, I forgot
Leaving my breath in despair
Losing the battle that I fought
So take me love, drown me quick
I am yours to kill
Drown me in waters much too thick
But please love me still…
