Smash The Glass

Walking in a circle
I still wonder where I’m headed
My pace always quickening
Until I approach a dead end
This simple wall is but a mirror
Should I smash it with my fist?
Risk a bloody wound without care?
I reread the options on my list
I end up punching the mirror
My reflection shakes
Then it begins to shatter
And the hard ground quakes
The air looses all it’s moisture
My lungs dry up completely
My eyes shrivel and my reflection
Is looking right at me
I refuse to go this way so I
Take that one piece of shattered glass
One swift plunge and I
Feel the colour drain out of me at last
I guess there are no second chances
But at least I learnt my lesson
And if I don’t meet my reflection here
I’ll meet it again in heaven
