She looks in the mirror,
And sucks in her tummy.
"I'm so fat" She cries,
"You're not" Says her mummy.
She knows the truth,
Behind the lies
"Stop before it's too late"
Everybody cries.
Her face slowly gets pale,
And her eyes suck in.
She smile at herself,
As she gets real thin.
"Oh, Look at yourself!"
"You look all wrong!"
"You look like a twig hun,
You soon won't belong."
"Everyone shut up!
I'm the way I want to be,
I'm pretty and thin,
Can't you see?"
As she gets more weak,
Her friends turn away.
They gave her advice,
But she continued everyday.
She eats up her food,
And walks out of the room.
She sticks her finger down her throat,
It's turning into doom.
She continues on,
Her friends quietly cry.
They hate her this way,
They don't want her to die.
Her best friend sobs
"This is killing you,
You need help hon.
You must miss us too."
"Your right, I'll stop to have you back,
I can't do this anymore
I just wanted to be skinny,
My hearts now sore"
A few months gone by,
She's now fine,
She looks in the mirror,
And cries one last time.
"I'm the perfect size,
I'm the perfect weight.
Why did I do that before,
And cause so much hate?"
The moral is
When you diet,
Tell people how you feel,
Don't keep it quiet,
This girl could've killed herself,
From a stupid choice,
Talk to professionals
Please
Just raise your voice.
This poem was written to my dear friend, Mackenzie. I love her deeply, and
seeing her go into bulmia was one of the hardest things to see. We all tried
to help during this time, but only two of our friends stayed and helped her.
Me being one of them, i wrote a poem about it, and a speech about eating
disorders. It's a serious thing. God made you a certain way, don't change
his creations for some one, or anything. You're pefect the way you are. =]
