Painting Over the Graffiti

My whole life I had standards for Love
Tall knight in shining armor
Knocking on my door
Handing me flowers as he shows me the sunset

Then along came Love
Normal guy in normal clothes
Ignoring my heart's existence
Pampering his already pampered queen

Love showed love to everyone but me
And for awhile I fed off of my own dream
But one horrible day I awoke
To find that my heart was more selfish

From then on my dream became my nightmare
Haunting the hallways of my heart
Love left graffiti on the walls
Love left without a care for me

For the rest of my life I will have standards for Love
Normal guy in normal clothes
Caring whether or not I breathe
Someone that will paint over the graffiti
