Almost begged down on my knees
And if I ripped my heart in two
Would you pick up every piece?

Almost gathered up the courage
To take a hold of your hand
I almost had the reassurance
That you would understand

But I looked into your eyes
Almost fainted when I realized
That I almost gave myself away
Without knowing what you might say

So I almost made it happen
Almost poured out love lemonade
Almost got disheartened
But I stepped back in the shade

I almost buried myself last night
Almost phoned you up just to say
That despite wrong and right
I love you in more than that way

So yesterday I almost fessed up
Almost blurted out everything
But if I lost you and messed up
I wouldn’t have anything
