Holding on so close
To the feelings I don’t want to lose
The distance fades you
And the lines are too fuzzy to distinguish from the background
Yet I stay knowing one day you will be as clear as water
And I will hold you day and night
We will laugh
I will sometimes cry
Out of the happiness that I found
No yelling
Never feeling small
You will make me something I never thought I could be
Just by being there
By being you
And letting me be me
Judgment no longer will haunt my nights
And fear will vanish from my mornings
I began to think love was a hoax
A fleeting moment
Lust taking over and tricking the heart
Into believing in something that isn’t real
But I know as I lay in your arms
Laughing about the little things
Blowing smoke into the darkness
That my heart can’t be fooled
