Death of You

Standing over a casket
That holds the heart of my one true love
But he once held my heart
And he took it with him high above
Tears stream down my cheeks
Mascara creating lines
I still can’t believe that
I missed all of the signs
I never knew it was that bad
If I did, you know that I would have
Held you closer, loved you harder
Or told you I loved you, for a starter
Now you’ll never know,
and they’re holding me back
Because I’m trying to pry open the coffin
with a vicious attack
Please take me with you, I need you
Live for you, die for you, my lungs breathe you
Press the highest number on the elevator
Hoping I'll find you up there once more
Shouting and screaming just so you’ll hear me
Won’t let go of you, I need you near me
I can’t let them bury you, because with you I go
If I could see you I’d tell you everything you didn’t know
But I lost my chance and now you’re gone
You’ll never know you were my only one
If only I could have kissed you with your last breath
Shared one more thing before your death
But now all I’ll ever be doing is crying
Because inside, without you, I’m also dying
And time seems to be passing slower
As the casket is going lower
But before you go, I need you to know

I LOVE YOU
