She lives her life in a world on her own.
And she’s never coming back to reality.
This place in her head is what she calls home.
And she swears she will gain immortality.
She lives her life in the books she reads.
And she’s not going to make it to happily ever after.
But she just keeps going on farther it seems
fire-breathing dragons could not break her laughter.
And suddenly, she’s ripped away from her world.
By hands that were born to shred innocence.
And the earth trembles at another naked girl.
And she shakes at every and all of her remnants.
She runs away, and covers her ears in the dark.
She holds her breath and goes back to her dreams.
To all of these places she knows only by heart.
And they shatter at the pitch of her screams.
Though she swore on her life, she finally grew up.
She found her happily ever after in reality.
And though she blames it on pure dumb luck,
She knows she’s found her immortality.
She still visits that place between sleep and awake.
As she drifts off believing as hard as she can.
For everyone knows that believing will make
Whatever you dream to become real again.
And in her mind, she feels his breath on her neck.
His beating heart, her favorite song in her ears.
She falls straight into sync with the motion of his chest
And she stretches and turns believing he’s here.
And for one split second she can feel the touch of his flesh.
And as soon as her eyes open, he’s gone.
She lies still stunned, as she inhales his scent.
And she knows that she couldn’t be wrong.
She hasn't stopped pretending and she never will.
He will always keep her forever young.
She can’t stop believing because the magic’s still real.
And her dreams have only just begun.
Her world of youth had been destroyed with her heart.
And it lay broken in the pieces that cut her hands.
But love never grew old; without death do us part
And she'll never grow up because he is her never-land.
