They said that they were tolerant,
and so I went to see;
I sat quiet through a meeting,
where they tolerated me.

I went home and thought about it,
all the points that they had made,
and I created a rebuttal,
that, next meeting, I would state.

Thursday came up quickly,
but I was well prepared,
and knew they’d tolerate opinions,
that I was there to share.

I asked them to consider
education as a fight,
so that girls and boys in high school,
could better decide what’s ‘right’.

If we could bring down teen sex levels,
pregnancy would follow suit,
and with abortion numbers dropping,
we won’t need pro and anti groups.

I thought we’d fight together,
to bring the need for choices down,
but as I looked out at the angry crowed,
I saw nothing but a frown.

Not a single soul was willing,
to stop the problem at the cause;
no one was fighting with me,
and I was booed off, no applause.

The only choice that they supported,
was “abortion is a right”;
and no one dared consider,
that we prevent the need to fight.

They claimed that they were tolerant,
but when I went to see,
I stood up for my opinions,
and they shut their doors to me.
