Sea of Red

The shimmer of red takes its course
Down the long, pale flesh;
Leaving its streaks to mark its path,
Along the other scars she bears.
The shimmer of red begins to leave the flesh
As it reaches the dark blue rug.
She watches the red go along its path;
And makes more red follow;
With one swift movement. . .
With one shiny, silvery object. . .
The red flows so smoothly like a river,
Gently taking its course. . .
Down the long, pale flesh.
