Reading.
Sitting.
Watching.
Waiting.

She reads,
While he sits.
He watches.
They're waiting.

Glancing.
Shifting.
Staring.
Blaring.

She glances at him,
He shifts in his seat.
She stares at him.
They both hear the blares of the cars.

Voices.
Shouts.
Staring.
Breathing.

They hear the voices shouting at them.
They stay sitting...staring...
Their breathing becomes heavier,
His breath catches as she moves from her seat.

Moving.
Scratching.
Lights.
Sounds.

She moves the shutter,
They scratch against one another,
Neon light comes through them.
Both hear sounds from the outsiders.

Voices.
Shouts.
Staring.
Breathing.

The voices grow louder,
Shouting ensues.
Blankly they stare again,
Now her breath catches.

Glancing.
Shifting.
Staring.
Blaring.

They glance out the window,
Both shift uneasily.
They stare at the lights,
That blare through the shutter.

Reading.
Sitting.
Watching.
Waiting.

He reads now.
She sits again.
She watches him.
They wait.
