Photoshopped World

Flip through ads, curious, grotesque
Millions of tiny pixels creating a photoshopped world
Discard reality and save the lie.

The pouty lips and glossy hair of beauty
Hold no relevance to the sunken eyes and yellow bruises of truth.
Yet the two pieces ached for each another in a way they never knew
For neither knew of the others existence.

I fear that I too am responsible
For the deterioration of the human soul
For my desperate attempts to merge truth with beauty
Seemingly only contain the undesirable of each.
