She said “I love you”
And he said “I don’t
She said “I always will”
And he said “I won’t”
She said “Why?”
He said “Bye”
She said “Don’t go!”
He said “Why?
She gave a sigh
“Because I need you so”
He walked away
She fell to her knees
He heard from behind,
A voice, “Baby, please!”
She said “You’re just scared”
He turned around
“I’m not scared of anything”
She said “Prove it now”
He said “But how?”
She said “Breathe me in”
He said “But I can’t”
She said “Then I guess I win”
He furrowed his brow
Began to inhale and exhale
And then, finally
His lungs did prevail
She was breathed in
One sweet breath took her
She flowed through his veins
Just like she remembered
He said “You tricked me!”
She said “I belong in your heart"
He said “Not again!”
Now it’s back to the start
