The sweet silence in the air
Breaks so suddenly
No warning, no signals
No remorse.

Triggered by a single scream
A single pant
And a single gasp.

Bloodshot eyes
Broken, pale skin
And collapsing lungs to envy.

Slowing veins decorated
With a tarnished blade
And a crimson ribbon flowing.

A final memory
A final heart-wrenching dream
And a final whisper waiting.

You with her
And her with you
Hands together, lips locked
Eyes fluttered shut.

You’re everything I wanted
And everything she’s got
She’s all the things you needed
She’s everything I’m not.

With three last sorrow words
And with one final breath
To whom I was so blinded by..

I love you.
