They met one dark
And cloudy day,
And his smile was the light
That showed her the way.
They started dating,
And the months began to pass,
She dreamt as she wrote
Her first name with his last.
Then the moment came,
And he got down on one knee,
And said he wanted to be with her
For all eternity.
By the smile on her face,
And the look in her eyes,
He knew the moment
Had been a surprise.
It was a moment of truth,
The true love test.
He asked the question,
Her answer was yes.
The wedding came and went,
The honeymoon did the same.
And she was thrilled
When they chose
Their little boy's name.
An amzing little boy,
Full of knowledge,
She cried the day
That he graduated from college.
The happy couple
Grew old together,
And they knew their love
Would last forever.
And then the day came,
She left him alone,
And the last thing he bought her
Was the beautiful gravestone.
Now as he looks at the grave,
He recalls the past,
Looking at her first name
Engraved with his last.
