Petals for the Wind

Blow away the petals
of the withered flower
but never let it fade away

goodbye was all that he said
the last time that you saw him
no feeling or emotion left

he said it with the coldness
of a winters night
as if he never knew you

this was all too sudden
no time to say goodbye
you wish you could stop time right now

by morning he was gone
you didn't get to tell him
you figured out was love was

he left you all his poems
a few unfinished songs
some he never told you of

you've ended all his poems
closed up all his songs
and colored al his drawings in

the music has been written
you've finished all his work
he was the soil for your growth

you've blown away the petals
of the withered flower
but didn't let it fade away

you've grown yourself a new one
carefully and slowly
and placed it where he loved most

although they may get withered
you should not go move them
you should just let them be

theres nothing you can do
everything's been done
just finish living out your life

and blow away the petals
of the withered flower
but never let them fade away....
