You make my heart beat like a drum
So fast, I can feel it against my chest
My brain has to work overtime for you
It hasn’t yet got any rest
You make me want to peel my skin off
Because you aggravate me to no end
But in my heart I know that I
Want to be more than just your friend
When I talk to you we get in fights
And say we can’t stand each other
But in one minute we can change
From war veterans to lovers
You take pleasure in making me mad
So you talk in ways that confuse me
Sometimes you just don’t make sense
Sometimes I think you abuse me
I feel like screaming in your face
But then I feel like screaming your name
These mixed feelings are like riddles
And they come with so much shame
So why can’t I just walk away?
If I knew, I’d have solved it already
All I know is that this relationship
Is slowly getting deadly
