Do I Make You Nervous?

Beads of sweat greet your forehead
And you’re tugging at your collar
Do I still make you nervous?
Your hands are tangled in each other
Your foot is tapping in anticipation
I’m wondering if I should touch your chest
Just to hear your heart race
Or to give this conversation a little zest
Sweet boy, don’t quicken your breath
I’m not here to make you sweat
You don’t need to shift your eyes
I’m your friend, don’t forget
I whisper in your ear so I can
Make the hair stand on your neck
I love how I can make you shiver
With just a simple cheek peck
I’ll grab your hand so I can
Feel you jump with surprise
And I’ll slightly touch you thigh
Just to see the fear in your eyes
But I know you’re getting sick of the abuse
And a friend isn’t something you should use
You just give me so many kicks
And I know that you’ve heard this
The punch line every time is
Do I make you nervous?
