She stands alone
Alone with everyone around her
Everyone with their damn lives and
laughter
The laughter is what gets her the
most
It seems everyone is happy but her
And she wonders sometimes how
much more she can take
She sees so many options
But none really give her what she
wants, needs
Him
Best friend and lover all wrapped
into one
But she knows it will not last
She crossed a line long ago
But didn't see it till his departure tore
the wool from her eyes
The heart she thought she'd
sheilded and hidden
Was now exposed fully to her with a
soft, gently carved hole in the
armor
The breach was caused from within
as well as without
And while getting there may have
been the best months of her life
The actual realization was what
almost drove her over the edge
And now she stands in a losing
situation
No matter what she does, she will
lose him
She's lost him because she let
herself get attached to him
Attached by the same strings she
swore she'd suppress
But could not because for once,
everything was right
Everything made sense
She wanted to live everyday just to
see him
He broke through the past that
haunted her and made her trust
him with all she had
He made her love him
And she knows she could never
make him love her
But even with that knowledge
She can't stop loving him
