A stone canvas mural

Off the beaten path

Scuffed and scraped and scribbled on

It holds the future and the past

Many pass it by,

Without a careless glance.

To see the magic and the tragic-

They have lost their only chance.

The forgotten pavement story

Weaves a tale of mysteries.

A world, a wonder, a lifetime

A melody – it breathes.

Revolving and evolving

The picture stayed the same

Until that fateful summer night

When it was washed away

There was Lightening,

And there was Thunder,

A crashing in her mind.

And a climax of defiance,

For the dreams that transcend time.

But once the pavement dries

And your chalks are ever-waiting

You begin to draw again

These dreams – on pavement
