Could You?

Could you answer me just one or two
Could you answer simple prayers
Could you give me, maybe, a bite of food
Could you find someone who cares
Could you bring this little boy his life
Could you bring him one more chance
Could you do the best to make it right
Because I know I can't
Could you lend a thought, a dream or two
A future, thrown away
Could you bring this boy a bite of food
So he might live, just one more day
Could you pass the love, and memories
That a fractured life forgets
Could you pass the boy in disbelief
And still have no regrets
Could you ignore the pain of anothers life
Could you spare a buck or two
Could you do this, please, and do whats right
So that he might have some food
Could you find within, the simple pride
Would you feel a sense of shame
Or would you say you're broke, and lie
He has no home, Are you to blame?
And passing by you wonder
Yet soon the mind forgets
Could you help this boy, unlike his mother
Then you would have no regrets
