BEEP

Goes the alarm clock
Grab my coat and I’m off
To watch you make a fool of yourself
Again
And Again
Once more
Than before

Proudly you wear your
Whore costume
But lately it just hasn’t
Been any form of a
Disguise
Realize
That now you’re different
With the same finger print

You say it’s fun and games
But life isn’t always about
Rolling a seven
Or pocket aces
Because after swinging your hips
And cashing in your chips
You’ll see that you have nothing
Now won’t that be something?

”What do I have to lose?”
You’re right, it’s just your
Reputation
Intellect
Dire friends
And respect
It’s just your
Innocence
and Dignity
Our trust
And your virginity

Now you’re dirtier than a
Football jersey
Quite frankly, even Tide
Couldn’t clean you
Now that’s a shame
But it’s a dirty game
And I can’t be your shield
When you’re always on the field

Let’s end this with an elegant
But certainly a memorable
Bang
And we’ll go home and say
That it had been a rough day
When you’re finally sober
You’ll realize that it’s over

I choose to swim
Against your ever rising tide
So that if I drown
At least I can say I tried

We’ll both laugh about this
In a couple of years
But when I’ll be laughing
You will not be here
