Summer Love

The sweet scent
of a summer breeze,
and watching the wind
rustling throuh the trees,
triggers a memory,
and brings back the past,
reminding me of the summer
we thought would last.
The bittersweet love
when we were together
was something we thought
would last us forever.
But we were mistaken,
love wasn't what it seemed,
and the happiness we shared
was a childish dream.
The leaves on the trees
turned golden brown,
our summer love ended
when the first one fell down.
My tears came down
with the falling leaves,
and our love blew away
in a cool autumn breeze.
