I wrote a letter to God one day
And put it in a red balloon
I let it go and watched as it got
Sucked into the permanent blue
Ceiling above my head

The jagged letters in bold ink read:

“Dear God,
If you ever plan to take my soul,
take it now.”

So I stood there,
Stationary as well as
Untouched

And that’s when I knew
I had done something wrong
