Would you heart beat fast, when you heard my name
Or would I bring to you, even greater shame?

Would my feelings towards you stop
Or would they grow and grow?
Would you forget me, and pretend I wasn’t there,
Or would you understand, that, that would be unfair.

What if you knew I loved you,
Loved you shall you know?
Would you make the winter colder,
Or would you melt the snow?
Would you tell me things that were never true,
Or would you show me you love me by the things you do?

What if you knew I loved you,

Would I follow you around
Or would I just let go?
Would you, from across a crowded room, flash me a great big smile,
Or would you hate me, and leave me in denial.

What if you knew I loved you,

Would you want everyone to see you and me
Or would I be the one you never want to show?
Would you love me because I’m smart and funny,
Or would you love me simply if I had money?

Would you make the night darker,
Or make the blue moon glow.
Would you care about what was in my heart,
Or would you only care about keeping us apart?

What if you heard I loved you,
Loved you shall you hear?
Would you bring to me smile after smile,
Or make me cry, tear after tear?
Would you say you loved me, even if it’s a lie,
Or would you say, you wish for me to die?

Loved you shall you hear?
Would you care less about my feelings,
Or would you be sincere?
Would you tell me or give me some sort of sign,
Or would you make me realize, you never will be mine.

Would you call me mean things,
Or sweetheart, hun, and dear?
Would you forever love me and always be sweet and kind,
Or would you pretty much careless about what was on my mind.

Would you make me guess,
Or would you love be clear?
Would you love me for everything I’ve got,
Or would you try to change me into someone I’m not?

Would I be pretty enough,
Or would I break the mirror?
Would you, just to hear my voice, call me on the phone,
Or would you leave me in the darkness, standing all alone?
