A girl stares through a glass,
Accompanied by a boy
She confesses to him-
A tale of loneliness,
And an insecure past.
Girl:
“Even if I am forced to wait
Until my days have become to late
I’ll find that man with open arms…”
Boy:
“But what if that man has come and past?
For you have thrown him to the dark,
Afraid that he would break your heart.”
Girl:
“Don’t you know that I would see-
That the man is there for me?
You seem to think for all this time,
I’ve examined life with closed eyes,
And seeing everything as if they‘re lies.”
Boy:
“I wish you’d open your eyes-
And see that I am the man to be---“
Girl:
“-----To be?!
Oh do shut up, and stop the sherade
I can see through your lies clear as glass.
Each word you speak is a waste of time.”
Boy:
“But 'tis true I do love you,
You’ve become so bitter
I don’t know why?
But I see past that and into your eyes,
I love you deeply with all my heart
You push me away but I refuse,
My love for you - it tares me apart.”
Girl:
“Be quiet! Don’t speak one more word!
Every word cuts me – as if a knife.
You do this on purpose, you know it hurts-
I can’t decide witch is worse- your false words,
Or the fact that you mean it to hurt.”
Boy:
“Oh dear lover of mine
Don’t you know that my love is true?
And I’d do nothing to hurt you?”
Girl:
“If your words are sincere,
You’d have told me in the past—“
Boy:
“---Shut your mouth,
My lady I love you…
And I shall prove it to you.
Let me start with a kiss
Things I love about you-
Ill make into list
And hope that the words I’ve spoke
Will remain held in your heart….”
Girl:
“Than I give you this chance-
Just this once - to prove your passion-
If 'tis true - ill give you my heart….”
His love was proven
And years have past.
Both lay side to side
As their children play
Outside on this morning
–and lovely day….
