A Conscious Catching On

Oh underlying tone in my heart,
Stop your ringing;
I'm just not listening:
Covering my ears,
Because she doesn't exist.

She doesn't, she doesn't..
So stop whispering your words
And twirling your fingers around her hair,
Because it isn't there,
It isn't there.

Oh ringing in my head,
Stop shouting your nonsense.
He loves me, he loves me..
But maybe I'm just hoping it's true?
Well what else could her panties on the floor possibly prove?

Please, do anything to turn your lies to truth:
Twist my butterflies into a tomb,
And rip away their wings,
My only way to fly.
Now all they can do is eat away at my insides.
