Disillusionment

The midnight hour falls upon us
And there is no way to relieve the sight
Of all those who've died in the name
Of a name that has died.
There is no home inside for those
Who have no name by which to die.
I am no martyr for this dying reality
I've no place for my own injured mind
Scarred by this environment
The world to which I was born.
There is no reason behind
Why they smile at the sun
As it burns them slowly away.
There is no relief from the endless search
For solace that is not there.
There is no connection between you
Or the others that thank the one
That slays you by the millions
And there's no way of telling
How or when you'll go.
There is no morning to this night
It never ends, it's all come true
That's all a lie.
