Invest Your Heart!

It is better that your heart has felt and hurt,
Than to not have felt at all, and become inert.
For do we not live to experience what we can,
The pain and the joy of our relationships and plans?

Each moment of life is so precious and requires
That we live whatever our heart desires.
To pursue with tenacity and feel whatever our heart
pleads,
And be willing to go where our heart leads.

For if we deny what we truly and deeply feel,
Will not our hearts bleed and our minds reel
With the stress of not having taken the chance,
And paid the price of emotion’s dance?

But if we allow the experience which may rend the
heart,
So too may we find a most joyous blessing start.
That of a friendship or perhaps even more,
And so will your heart to the sky then soar!

So what price do we allow our hearts to pay?
Do we invest but a little, is a little gain OK?
Or do we open wide our hearts to the torrential flood
of feelings,
To experience and benefit from joys and tears, in all
our dealings?
