Caught On a Star

The reason the universe is black,
is so that the bright colors of the planets and stars
can show its true brilliance.
The swirls of energy...
Transparent when up close,
But leaves a person transfixed when from afar.

If only I could go up there...

Feel what anti gravity feels like,
As I float in complete silence,
Watching the bright color combinations
only found in the formations of space.
My hair floating around me,
As if I were in water,
But not one particle of water is found here.

And I would spin,
Losing what is up and what is down.
And I would chase the shooting stars,
And grab on to them as I try to find you,
From up in the exosphere of space.
I would blow a kiss of stardust in your direction,
In hopes that it falls on you,
So you know how it feels to be caught on a star.
And then you and me can wish on the same star,
At the same time.
The same thing.

And if our wish came true,
You would be next to me,
Spinning fast as we hold onto each other.
We can dance around the moon,
And watch the Earth from afar.
And watch it spin on its axis,
As the planets begin to align,
Just for us.
The sun would shine its truest brilliance,
Just for us to feel its warmth.
And though it would shine its brightest,
It still would not warm me
as much as when you kiss me.
And the coldness of space would stop,
Just because you would hold me.

And I would hold your face in my hands,
And look into your eyes,
And see that the universe colors are nothing compared to you.
The universe envious of your eyes...
As they completely are transfixed on me.

And only then would I realize,
That my universe surrounds you.
