Life is Laid Bare

Life is all around us, it’s laid to bare,
The sweet smell of the forest strong in the air.

The wind as it blows along through the trees,
Blowing down along the path taking flight to the leaves.

See the calm before the storm down upon the docks,
Angry sounds of the water crashing against the rocks.

Life laid out bare before our eyes,
So tell me why we taint it with our lies.

Why do we cut upon all that stands,
Polluting all that is pure of our lands.

How can we say that life and nature is our goal,
When we come along with poison and take its soul.

Life is all around us, it’s laid bare,
But we take it all without an ounce of care.
