Too much time has passed
For me to murmur my sorrows,
The lamentations of lost days
Of lost minutes and lost years

Throw out today and start again
Even if the beginning is painful
Yesterday has long since faded,
So does it even exist?

For what sense does it make
To try to embrace a more pristine past
When all that I've ever done was
Pay the price in a loved one's blood?

"Tomorrow I'll be free" thats what I say
Day after day while I thrive
In darkness with my hands over my eyes
Maybe sin does give me more

What good does it do
To take another chance at the future
If every uncertainty is a fallacy
That makes destiny a lie?

Look at our lives, the shadows in disguise
Interrupt hypocrisy and ask yourself
Is the answer written in the stars above
Or within our own hearts?
