Scarecrows Dont' Cry.

I want to scrape the fake blue
From the sky no one bothers to enjoy anymore
I want to drag my brush where it used to be
And leave a color that hasn't yet been seen
One that doesn't lie to me
And tell me every day is new
Because every day is just the same
Copied and pasted above guiltier faces

I want the sky to rain so hard
That every white lie becomes dark
And the truth drips out from where it was hidden
Beneath every straw chest and button eye
You're scared, I know
I can tell by the way you treat me
And it leaves a different breath in my throat
One that I hope stops every other breath I have

I want the air above to burn
And shine a bright red light on your charm
A color scheme not so flattering
To illuminate what you so cleverly conceal

I want to sing a heavy-hearted melody from my painted lips
To stop scaring away those who would otherwise rest
On my broomstick arms and ash black hat
And let them pick away at my rotting core and rid me of it

I want to bleed away the watercolor sky
I want to bleed away this watercolor lie
