Another Minute

A young boy, born into a death-surrounding world
He must live with it, learn to survive

Because the world won't stop for him, another minute goes by.

Every day he witnesses what people can only imagine

Murder and drugs are daily things, but he learns not to cry
He knows nobody will stop for him, another minute goes by.

As he grows older, he learns from his cousins tips on how to survive

The next day a gun is held to his cousin's head by a store, and he prepares
to die
The wall of the building is now painted red, no one stops, another minute
goes by.

The boy isn't afraid to walk the streets alone without protection anymore

After being forced by the death of his cousins to say good-bye

He now lives his life to make them proud, he tilts his head up to heaven and
smiles at them as another minute goes by.......
