I wish I had the ocean
To speak my words more clearly
All the salty air
And the innocence

The wet sand that squeezes
Between your ten cold toes
And the sunshine
That melts everything

The mysterious water
The grace of its waves
The wind that makes
Your clothes dance around

Where no matter what
It's summer
And it's always
Beautiful

But I only have
This white house
In a neighborhood
That's gray

So I hope
You can understand
When I say
I wish I had the ocean
