Absent (Without You)

Its lonely without you here
Your half of the bed is cold
Your arms aren't gripping me close
And the pillow's indent is gone

Its cold without you here
You took your jacket with you
Your arms aren't wrapped around me
And your body heat is gone.

Its quiet without you here
Your voice doesn't echo in my ears
I hallucinate and hear your laughter
But you took that with you.

Its empty without you here
The room seems so much bigger
The pictures have been tucked away
And your gifts boxed in the garage.

Its frightening without you here
You're not here to remove the spiders
And the noises at night seem louder
Now that your heartbeat doesn't mask them

Its odd to say that your gone
Its even odder to believe it true
But your absence brought truth
And the truth brought my first real smile.
