I wanted to write a poem,
To keep you strong and going,
Optimism is not my strong point,
But for you I'd have it in spades.

We have not known each other long,
And we are not really that close.
We met in difficult circumstances,
But I hope I can call you a friend.

I can't lie and say I know how you feel,
Or what you are going through,
But I can say I will be here for you,
Any time of day, in what ever way.

I could shout, this is not fair,
Why You?, It should be me!,
But I won't go down that route,
As I'm trying to help not make things worse.

I could list your good qualities,
But what use would that be for you,
I wish I could say something profound & memorable,
But I know your family and friends will be a major strength for you.

There is a lot more things I could write,
But I don't want to send you to sleep,
So I will end it with how I started,
With the title and the words, You Are Not ALONE.
