Between you and me

I have not meant for it to happen,
And it was not a tragedy,
But a lie for others,
And a true love for me.

Age is just a number,
That, they'll never see.
A lie for them,
A true love for me.

I know it's right for us,
But, for them, we could never be.
They haven't thought about others,
Especially me.

I do not blame their judgment,
When they tried to cut what binds us,
True, they've won in a way,
But, still, our love remains.

The night they've heard,
Both our tale and my sobs,
The story that developed,
Between you and me.

This poem is made with love,
And, dedicated to my one true love.
All the happiness and sorrows,
Of our love nourished by time,
A bad choice for them,
But an honest love for me.

Now, here I am,
Grieving for what is supposed to be,
A love that's forbidden,
Between you and me,
That's their philosophy,
But, surely, not for me.

A love that'll remain forever,
A chance that we hope,
Is not far from fantasy,
That's only for now,
Because, both of us believe,
In the future that smiles upon our love.
The one between my true love and me.
