I see your ghostly face in the distance
I try to seek you, but doubt your existence...
Your skin so white it could have been ghost
Your sunken in eyes more sunken than most.
You seem to float around the place
Seem to slow down the rat race pace.
The people around you stop to stare
It doesn't even look like you care.
I only ever see the face quickly to disappear,
The only thing I see, a distant unknown smear.
When you see me you look like a deer,
Caught in a spotlight and shaking with fear.
Why are you afraid of me ghost man of the mall,
If I'm the only one to notice, the only one of them all?
Why do you run if I just want to meet,
If all I want to know is where are your feet?
Where did you come from, where are you going?
My curiosity is slowly growing.
Why haunt the place where it goes unseen,
Just think how scary you could have been.
Each time I see you I run in vain,
I'm starting to wonder if I'm completely sane...
But one day you'll greet me I know it's true,
For I am the only one that can see you.
Other people stare at me strangely when I yell,
For the ghost man you are to keep me under his spell.
The spell that lets me wander away,
From the rat race path I walk every day.
People keep bumping into each other,
Nobody thinking about one another.
Everyone dashing to get somewhere on time,
As if being late would be seen as a crime.
I kept walking in the halls of haste,
Until the day it's you I faced.
The first and only thing I saw there,
Would have given people reason to stare.
For I was looking right into my eyes,
But it had a look something gets when it dies.
Sunken into my skull they lay,
As if something had pushed them out of the way.
My mouth was twisted into a scream,
That's when I woke up from the horrible dream.
I looked around at my room around me,
Nothing out of place everything as it should be.
That night again I closed my eyes,
And got the feeling something gets when it dies.
My heart thumped once and never again beat,
I now no longer have any feet.
I saw a light as my body grew cold,
I looked for something where I could find hold.
But slowly I was dragged away,
My ghostly brother had brought my day.
I opened my eyes and saw his face,
Sweet and silent, nothing out of place.
I now walk the haste halls with him together,
Long lost brothers, forever.
And ever.
