"A World Unchanged"
by
Sherlock Heart
The view remains the same
Because this shit don't change
Just like the news articles that fills the front page
By now, I'm used to it
I don't expect shit
Why would it change now
It's been frozen so long it forgot how
The world is froze
How long you ask, only the Lord knows
And until the Lord decides to give us, his people, the answer
We wait for the prescription drug that cures cancer
In the meantime of waiting for the cure to cancer and the Lord's answer
We patiently await for a more mature, more secure Middle East
But ahhh, when will my imagination cease
Not here, not until I solve world peace
But now I'm stretching it
Remember I don't expect shit
The least you expect, the less you get disappointed
Try to explain the previous line to Thomas Edison who invented the light
Or to Elie Wiesel who survived through the "Night"
Even though we've come so far we are still frozen in a time where African
Americans can't afford bail
Martha Stewart's sent to jail
And all communion bread is still stale
I live in a world
Where a little girl lies deceased in a street
For believing in a holy book that promotes peace
We have become frozen in an Ice Age
Where people like you and me
Have turned blind
And chose not to see
The millions diseased with HIV
We've become more concerned with T.V.'s
MP3's
DVD's
And X-Box 360's
There's not much I know
But only that the world is froze
And the ugly face of Cold
Now shows exposed
To little boys and girls
Since I don't know shit
I will close with this
The world will stay froze
The view will remain the same
We'll have only ourselves to blame
For a world unchanged
