Only To Dream

I'll paint you a picture,
That could tell no lies,
About our summer days,
To the nights' dreaded good-byes.

Oh the times we've had,
More coming it may seem,
Never know whats coming next,
Leaving me, only to dream.

Long walks in the woods,
Looking for a sunset to see,
Finding someplace to sit,
Under the shade of a tree.

Such a warm, bright blue sky,
Over a cool breeze on a summers' night,
A sun setting to many colors,
And you holding me feels so right.

Your arm wrapped around me,
Because i just happen to be "cold,"
Just wanting you closer to me,
The little lie had to be told :)

Relaxing as we lean on each other,
Your hand in mine,
Thinking about your kiss,
How it would be a perfect time.

There is always just something,
Something about that look in your eye,
Moments before you kiss me,
Under the soft, evening sky.

Soon our lips touch,
As the breeze goes though my hair,
There's nowhere i'd rather be,
Than with you right there.

Forgetting where i am,
Your kiss takes me away,
Pulling me closer to you,
As the sky turns grey.

The sun fallen behind the water,
As you hold me close to you,
Knowing its time to go,
And our night is just about through.

Not wanting to stop hugging,
Wondering when next we will go out,
Our night has seemed to be cut short,
But it will be soon again no doubt.

You walk up your driveway,
I'm all alone now,
Still a smile on my face,
That only you know how.

I crawl into my bed,
And squeeze my pillow tight,
Shutting my eyes, only to dream,
That you were beside me tonight.
