Being around you tonight

Reminded me of exactly why we had to end

It reminded me of the drama and betrayal

And why I don't need a friend

Hearing the words you said tonight

Reminded me of why I used to play my music so loud

I tried so hard to tune out

The sounds of the phony crowd

Seeing you tonight

Reminded me of why I used to sit in the dark

Crying my eyes out in the blackness

And quickly falling apart

Feeling the pain in my heart tonight

Reminded me of the blade

The one that caused these scars on my arms

And took my pain away

Running away from you tonight

Reminded me that I have nowhere left to go

I ran and hid for as long as I could

Here! I'm bleeding! You've achieved your goal

Sitting here writing this poem tonight

Reminded me that no one will ever be around

Reminded me that you hate to build me up

But you love to break me down!
