Regrets of a Harborer

You deserve a masterpiece, my sweet.
You deserve a symphony, darling.
You deserve a throne, gold and sleek.
You deserve a flower for each day of the week, red in color, a rose by
any other name.
And it is with tears that I sit in here to wax and wane.

You deserve to live in the fantasies of a child
How do I make this life worth while?
I am the one who caters to every need.
And here it seems, I am on my knees.
I am the caretaker to every bush
But was never the one to experience that look.
The lust of love itself
Like the potion fell off the shelf,
Onto my breast and through my dermis
I heard but one conversation among us;

"Broken? I think not."
"But doctor, her heart has stopped!"
"Nay, fair child, she is merely reborn, a new soul of the lot.
To fare the seas and capture the hearts of many,
I have no doubt the love will remain plenty."
"But what of me, good sir? Where will my love pertain?"
"Good son, that notion is of nothing but in vain."

Eyes open, sight abrupt,
I gaze into the eyes of the angelic spot.
Peering into the perfection of which my creator tempts my soul,
I begin to hear,
"How droll..."
I live no life worth your while,
There's my first step out of denial.
I have no riches to share,
Not even wealthy enough to feed a pair.
And yet, it would all change with your presence.
And this will all be of reminiscence.

You have made me do too much in my life.
Regret ever leaving the thoughts held down, that you will be my wife.
You've made me cry,
You've made me smile,
You've made this life beyond worthwhile.
And I thank you for your inadvertent gestures!
But for now, this wound must fester.
I could never pressure you into a love life of my accord,
But god dammit I wish I had the power to adore it.

I've taken too much time out my life,
To only hope to call you my wife!
This time, you have fled back to the crime.
Even made this boy rhyme.
I guess what I'm trying to say,
Is that on this day,
A notion was set into play.

I will win you over one day.
Death might come first, but this is the price a lover is willing to
pay.
