Dear Ameren,
I’m standing still as the world rushes by me
Couples hand in hand moving at the speed of light
From just the flip of that one switch the connection is mad
ONE switch on they all get going
From yelling to loving to kissing and hugging
To marriage and kids but me?
Lonely simple solitary ME?
I’m here still here I haven’t gone to far
I haven’t wondered of the path too much,
I have stayed home all day and waited and yet
My service hasn’t even be connected…
There hasn’t come a burst of electricity to knock me off my feet
Set my legs in motion and get me on the run
No switch has flipped to spark any kind of fuse
To make any kind of connection or to energize ANYTHING in me
So here, in the dark, I’m still standing
Yes, single solitary, lonely, lonesome me
Just me
And there you all go racing at the speed of light
Together
Ameren, Please don’t forget about me I am still waiting for my service to be
restored!
