When I look into your eyes, young boy
I see the portrait of a mind
I see not the outside look of you
But the insides all I find
The outside, so deceiving
As we think of who you are
I take one look inside you, then
I see your pain and scars
I see the portrait, black and white
This portraits all I find
Fill it in, please wont you boy
Fill in this portrait of your mind
Paint it white and gold with life
Then paint it red with hate
Paint sillhouttes of mountains
To outline such darkened fate
Paint black and white for memories
Paint silver with your thoughts
Draw crossed lines where they once were
To denounce what life has brought
Outline it all with black and grey
To distinguish good from bad
Hard to tell the difference, no?
For this perfect pictures sad
And inside the portrait, paint some love
And make it hard to find
A portrait, no one knows but you
I'll call it "Portrait of a Mind"
