She hears the screams
She runs from the pain
Her heart beats louder
She cries like the rain

The past comes to life
As her future stands still
She remembers that night
When it all went downhill

The picture gets darker
The yelling gets louder
What did she do
To deserve such a mother

Night after night
It was fight after fight
But what did she do
Stand there quite and fright

And after each fight
She would hide in her room
She would cause pain to herself
No matter the strife

She couldn’t seem to handle it
And with each night became more depressed
And as the fights continued
She began to cut herself.

Soon she stopped talking
Had no friends to run to
And found no one to love her
It was only her and her room

And soon she would leave home
And not have anything left
And as she looked around
She noticed the padded walls

The echoing silence
The pills forced down her throat
The 10 minutes checks
And at that moment she knew
She had become nothing but a failure

All because one night she had decided to fight back
And share the amounts of pain she put herself through
Just because she couldn’t speak up at the right time.
