Round and Round the Empty Clock

Tick Tick Tock on an empty clock
Speaks of this life’s delays
Ding Dong rings the empty clock
One more hour slipped away

Tick Tick Tick marks the seconds passed
As the minutes fade to gray
Round and round the empty clock
Shows this normal life’s decay

Deep into the empty clock
I see my own two feet
I see my body, see my face
This futures bittersweet

Staring in this empty clock
I see myself the same
Years have passed and people grow
But I have never changed

Tick Tick Tick screams the second hand
Another minute slowly passed
Round and round my future goes
Engraved in wood and glass

Tick Tick Tock chimes the empty clock
With a message sound may send
Ding Dong chimes my empty life
An hour closer to the end

Tick Tick Tock, Resilient sounds
Pulsing through my brain
Circles coming back again
And ending up the same

Vibrations through the hallow clock
Speak of stories time may tell
Through the glass a dimming picture
A reflection of myself
