In the midst of all our surroundings
The lights, sounds, and sights
I keep a clear head
I need only look into her eyes
My night is fulfilled
As I look into her eyes
But she looks away
She talks about a boy
A boy whom is not here
A boy who is not I
I realize her passion immediately
I wish nothing more than to run away and weep
Nothing more than to wish myself into a dark place
Where love cannot reach nor break my heart
I know such a place does not exist so I stop wishing
I stare into space as my love leaves yet stays
She wishes nothing more than to be with him
Nothing more than for him to hold her
I stand there as she walks away
As everyone walks away
The lights dim
The sounds fall silent
The sights fade
I am left alone to myself
With nothing more than a memory
Of my love.
