Often those who are of the pleasant disposition
Think of light as an airy and delightful thing
Only there to serve as inspiration and an ease to pain
Not to say that I do not find inspiration in the bright
For I write about it now
But I feel that too often it is overlooked
That light is an aggressive and turbulent force
So full of rage and fire that it constantly struggles for dominance
Its bitter enemy of course is the growing dark
Most see the darkness as an evil
This notion to myself is unfounded
The fear of darkness comes from the fact
That one does not see clearly in the blackness of night
I pity the darkness
It can never escape its predator
The aggressive light
Constantly making the dark non-existent
Sending the dark to cower behind whatever it can find
Casting shadows surrounded by light
So next time you decide to comment on how lovely it feels to embrace the
light
Remember that somewhere around you is a shadow
Cowering under the power of a harsh master.
