Darker than Fear

I always talk about my fear being my enemy
My poems reflect this notion
I was wrong
The source of my fear is my father
The man who shuns me
The man who kills me
The man who keeps me in the dark house
Alone
With no one
If he’d open up things would be different
They wouldn’t be this dark.
